Spotify Family Plan is now available in India.
It costs Rs 179 per month.
Users will have access to 450,000 podcast titles and 50 million tracks/songs under the new plan.
Spotify has announced the availability of its Premium Family Plan in India. It will cost users Rs 179 per month. It gives users living under one roof more choices to customise music streaming and podcasts, with ad-free, on-demand music listening experience. To recall, the Spotify Premium Family Plan was launched globally in 2014.
The Spotify Premium Family Plan was updated globally earlier this year. The update brought Parental Controls, Family Mix, and Family Hub to the streaming service. Users can try the Family Plan for free for the first three months.
Users will have access to 450,000 podcast titles and 50 million tracks/songs under the new plan. The users who opt for Family Plan will get up to six accounts per family, where everyone gets to play their own music and podcasts.
“At a time where parents are trying to reduce screen time for both themselves and their family, we’re creating more ways for families to bond over music together, while still celebrating individual tastes and giving parents more control if they want it,” said Alex Norström, Chief Premium Business Officer, Spotify.
For reference, Spotify was launched in India back in February. In July, Spotify Lite was launched in India, which is essentially a smaller, lighter version of the main Spotify app. It allows users to control cache, and enables users to clear it with a single tap. It can be downloaded separately from the main app.
